Rainfall Warning in effect for:
  • Fraser Valley - west including Abbotsford
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

What: Rainfall amounts 40 to 60 mm with 80 mm expected over higher terrain.

When: Tonight and Monday.

Where: Fraser Valley - west including Abbotsford and central - including Chilliwack.

Remarks: While light to moderate rainfall occurs today, a stronger frontal system will arrive tonight bringing significant rain to the region. The heaviest rainfall amounts are expected on Monday with freezing levels rising to 2500 metres by Monday afternoon. Strong and gusty southerly winds Monday morning shift to southwesterly Monday Afternoon.

The rain is expected to ease by early Monday evening as the system moves off.

Localized flooding is likely. Some roads may become impassable. Travel delays and/or cancellations are likely. Landslides may occur in vulnerable areas such as steep slopes, deforested areas or recent burn scars.

Don't drive through flooded roadways.

What: Rainfall amounts 60 mm to 80 mm.

When: Tonight and Monday.

Where: Manning - Skagit Valley, Hwy 3 - Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass, Coquihalla Hwy - Hope to Merritt.

Remarks: While light to moderate rainfall occurs today, a stronger frontal system will arrive tonight bringing significant rain to the region. The heaviest rainfall amounts are expected on Monday with freezing levels rising to 2500 metres by Monday afternoon.
